Tristar VE-5728 bordventilator

The Tristar VE-5728 desk fan is a compact table fan designed to provide targeted airflow for workspaces and home environments. It features a 30 cm diameter blade assembly, three adjustable speed settings and an oscillation function to distribute air across a wider area. With a power rating of 40 W and a black finish, the fan is intended for table placement and offers simple controls on the base for straightforward operation.

Advantages

The fan combines a modest power draw with a 30 cm diameter to deliver effective local cooling while using limited electricity. Three speed options allow selection of gentle to stronger airflow according to need, and the oscillation mode increases the coverage area. The tabletop placement and relatively lightweight construction make it easy to move between rooms or positions. Controls on the base provide quick access to speed selection, and an incorporated safety feature helps protect the motor against overheating.

Suitable for

• Cooling individual workstations, desks or small office spaces
• Supplementary airflow in living rooms, bedrooms or kitchens
• Temporary ventilation where a compact, portable fan is needed

When it may not be suitable

This desk fan is intended for localized cooling; it is not designed to replace an air conditioning system or to cool large, open-plan areas on its own. Users requiring fine-grained speed control beyond three settings or a timer feature may find the functionality limited. Also, if very quiet operation at high airflow is required, dedicated low-noise models should be considered.

Key specifications

• Blade diameter: 30 cm
• Power consumption: 40 W
• Number of speed settings: 3
• Placement: table/desk
• Colour: black
• Oscillation: yes

How to use

Place the fan on a stable, level surface clear of obstructions. Use the push buttons on the base to select one of the three speeds. Activate the oscillation function to enable side-to-side movement for broader air distribution; use the rear adjustment knob to lock the head if you prefer a fixed direction. Keep the fan away from water and avoid covering the grille while in operation. Allow the fan to cool down and ensure it is unplugged before cleaning or performing maintenance.

What to consider before purchase

• Intended coverage area — best for single desks and small rooms
• Need for oscillation versus fixed directional airflow
• Preference for number of speed settings (three available)
• Placement requirements and portability needs

Recommendations

For effective use, position the Tristar VE-5728 on your desk or a nearby table at a slight elevation to allow unobstructed airflow toward your seating area. Use lower speeds for background airflow and higher speeds when you need more direct cooling. Regularly check and clean the grille to maintain performance and allow the built-in overheating protection to function correctly.
