Akasa AK-PCCM2P-03 interfacekort

The Akasa AK-PCCM2P-03 is an internal M.2 interface card that connects to a PCIe slot and enables installation of M.2 NVMe SSDs in desktop systems. It supports PCIe 3.0 x4 connectivity and provides a compact black adapter with exposed copper PCB and an additional heatsink design to reduce SSD temperature and help maintain performance. The card fits PCIe Gen3 x4, x8 or x16 slots and includes support for a 5V addressable LED pin to illuminate compatible M.2 drives with up to 16.7 million colours.

Advantages

The adapter combines an exposed copper PCB and dedicated heatsink to improve thermal dissipation, which can lower SSD operating temperatures and help sustain transfer speeds. Its mechanical design simplifies installation in standard PCIe slots, and the PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe to PCIe x4 host compatibility ensures broad support for M.2 NVMe drives. Built-in support for addressable 5V LEDs allows RGB lighting control on compatible drives.

Suitable for

• Adding one M.2 NVMe SSD to a desktop PC via PCIe slot
• Systems with PCIe Gen3 x4, x8 or x16 slots
• Users who want improved SSD cooling and optional RGB illumination

Key specifications

• Host interface: PCIe (PCIe 3.0 x4)
• Output interface: M.2 NVMe
• Maximum data rate: up to 32 Gbit/s (PCIe 3.0 x4)
• Internal form factor: Yes, internal PCIe card
• Product colour: Black
• LED support: 5V addressable LED pin (RGB control)

How to use

Install the Akasa AK-PCCM2P-03 into an available PCIe Gen3 x4, x8 or x16 slot on the motherboard. Mount a compatible M.2 NVMe SSD onto the card following the card's screw/standoff points and secure the drive with the supplied fastener. Connect any addressable 5V LED header if you want to enable RGB lighting on a supported M.2 drive. After installation, boot the system and verify the drive is detected in the BIOS or operating system. Install drivers or initialize the drive as required by your OS.

Recommendations

For best thermal performance, ensure adequate case airflow and verify that the heatsink on the adapter has direct airflow. Use the adapter in PCIe Gen3 slots for full 32 Gbit/s bandwidth and connect the 5V addressable LED only to compatible RGB headers to avoid damage.
