With an 18 mm cutting diameter, a pointed tip and sharpened edges, it provides fast, clean holes for general woodworking and installation tasks while offering durable performance for repeated use.

Advantages

This spade drill bit features a one-piece construction that improves strength and reduces the risk of breakage. The pointed tip ensures accurate centring and easy penetration, while the sharpened cutting edges deliver clean chip removal for neat holes. The 18 mm size balances material removal and control, suitable for through-holes and clearance drilling.

Suitable for

• Electrical and plumbing instalments requiring clearance holes
• General carpentry and DIY joinery tasks
• Quick rough drilling where precise bore finishing is not required

How to use

Secure the spade drill bit in a compatible drill chuck rated for the bit diameter. Mark the drilling position and use the pointed tip to locate the start. Apply steady, even pressure while running the drill at appropriate speed for the wood type—moderate speed for hardwoods, higher speed for softwoods. Withdraw the bit occasionally to clear chips if drilling deep holes. Finish the hole by backing the bit out to avoid tear-out on the exit side.

Recommendations

For extended life and cleaner holes, keep the cutting edges sharp and avoid excessive side pressure. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and clamp the workpiece securely before drilling.
