Computer kabinet Sonnet Echo II DV modul sort stål

The Sonnet Echo II DV Module Black Steel is a computer case module engineered to house two PCIe 3.0 video I/O cards and to integrate with Sonnet Thunderbolt expansion systems. Designed for use with modern M series Macs and Windows 10/11 systems, the Echo II DV Module provides a rugged steel enclosure, a built-in 400 W power supply, and dual Thunderbolt-enabled PCIe card slots. Its design lets users install two bandwidth-intensive digital video capture or playback cards in a single enclosure and connect them to a host computer via Thunderbolt/USB4 for reliable data throughput.

Advantages

The Echo II DV Module combines a durable black steel chassis with an internal 400 W power supply to deliver stable power and physical protection for installed cards. Each PCIe 3.0 slot is paired with its own Thunderbolt interface, enabling high-bandwidth connections for two separate video I/O cards. The module is compatible with Sonnet xMac Studio, DuoModo, and Echo rackmount systems, allowing flexible deployment in desktop and rack-based workflows. When connected to systems with multiple Thunderbolt ports, the module can deliver maximum performance for dual high-bandwidth cards.

How to use

Install up to two PCIe 3.0 video I/O cards into the Echo II DV Module following the card manufacturers’ installation guidelines and securing them in the enclosure. Connect the module to a Sonnet xMac Studio, DuoModo, or Echo rackmount system as intended, or connect directly to a host computer using the supplied Thunderbolt cables. For maximum bandwidth when using more than one bandwidth-hungry card, connect each Thunderbolt interface on the module to a separate Thunderbolt port on the host. If the host has only a single Thunderbolt port, use the module’s daisy-chain configuration by linking the module’s two Thunderbolt interfaces together with one supplied cable and then connecting the other interface to the computer.

Recommendations

To achieve the best performance with dual high-bandwidth cards, connect the Echo II DV Module to two separate Thunderbolt ports on the host computer when available. Ensure installed cards are supported by your host operating system (Windows 10/11 or macOS for M series Macs) and that you use manufacturer-recommended drivers and firmware for the video I/O cards.
