Drevslotblænding Icy Dock MB994IKO-3SB

The Icy Dock MB994IKO-3SB is a rugged full-metal dual-bay 2.5" SATA/SAS hot-swap mobile rack with an integrated Slim Optical Disk Drive (ODD) slot for installation into a single external 5.25" bay. Constructed from aluminum and metal, the unit supports 2.5" SSDs and SAS/SATA HDDs up to 15 mm in height, provides front and rear ventilation, individual drive LEDs, and a single 40 mm fan with on/off switch. Dual 4-pin power connectors ensure stable power delivery to both drives and the Slim ODD, making the MB994IKO-3SB suitable for industrial, medical, military, media server, IPC, HTPC and All-In-One applications.

Advantages

The MB994IKO-3SB combines a compact 5.25" form factor with a full-metal chassis for improved heat dissipation and durability. Its dual hot-swap trays use EZ Slide Mini Trays and an optional EZ-ODD removable Slim ODD tray (12.7 mm height) for flexible configuration. Each drive tray includes an individual metal key lock to prevent accidental ejection or tampering. The included 40 mm cooling fan with manual switch allows noise reduction when cooling is not required and additional airflow when using high-performance drives.

Suitable for

• Industrial and medical systems requiring rugged, metal enclosures
• Media servers and IPCs with multiple 2.5" drives
• HTPCs, small form factor and gaming PCs needing a Slim ODD plus drives
• On-the-go environments such as in-vehicle PCs and mobile workstations

How to use

Install the MB994IKO-3SB into a single external 5.25" bay following your system manufacturer’s instructions. Insert compatible 2.5" SATA or SAS drives into the EZ Slide Mini Trays and slide each tray into the corresponding bay until it locks. For Slim ODD use, mount a standard 12.7 mm Slim ODD into the EZ-ODD tray and secure it with the provided key or use the side latch to remove the tray. Connect data and power cables to the internal connectors, and connect the dual 4-pin power cables to ensure stable power to drives and ODD. Use the front fan switch to enable or disable active cooling as required.

Recommendations

For best results, use the fan when installing high-RPM SAS or high-performance SATA drives to maintain optimal operating temperatures. For primarily SSD-based systems, the fan can be turned off to minimize noise. Always use the individual key locks in public or mobile environments to prevent accidental removal or tampering.
