Fiberkabel ROLINE 21.15.9262 2 m LC violet

The ROLINE 21.15.9262 2 m LC Violet is an OM4 multimode fibre optic patch cable with LC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. Designed for short to medium range high-speed data links, this 2-meter cable supports dense networking environments and offers color-coded identification with its violet jacket. The cable is suitable for structured cabling, data centre cross-connects and equipment interconnections where OM4 performance is required.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre optic cable provides high bandwidth and lower modal dispersion compared with earlier multimode grades, enabling reliable 10 Gbps and higher links over short distances. The LC duplex connectors offer a compact form factor for high-density patch panels and switches. The 2 m length reduces excess slack in rack-mounted environments while the violet color simplifies port and cable identification in complex installations. The cable construction aims to minimize insertion loss and maintain consistent optical performance.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching and cross-connects
• High-speed enterprise LAN links (10 Gbps and beyond) over multimode fibre
• Optical equipment interconnects such as switches, transceivers and patch panels
• Structured cabling where OM4 multimode fibre is specified

Key specifications

• Cable type: Multimode OM4 fibre
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: LC to LC duplex
• Length: 2 meters
• Jacket color: Violet
• Typical use: Short to medium range high-speed optical links

How to use

Confirm that both connected devices and transceivers support multimode OM4 fibre and LC connectors. Route the 2 m cable through cable management paths to avoid tight bends; maintain the minimum bend radius specified by the hardware vendor. Align and insert each LC connector into the corresponding duplex port until it clicks, ensuring correct polarity for transmit and receive pairs. For disconnecting, press the LC latch and pull straight without twisting. Inspect connector endfaces and, if necessary, clean with approved fibre cleaning tools before insertion to reduce insertion loss and prevent damage.

Recommendations

Store and handle the fibre cable carefully to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress. Use appropriate cable management and labeling to take advantage of the violet color coding, and follow workplace safety guidelines for optical equipment handling, including avoiding exposure to active laser light in connected transceivers.
