Plug a DisplayPort cable into the female side of the adapter to join or extend an existing cable. Check that connectors are fully seated and avoid forcing them; ensure devices are powered off when making or breaking connections if recommended by your hardware manufacturer.

Recommendations

For optimal signal quality, use high-quality DisplayPort 1.4 cables and avoid excessive bending at the connector. Keep the adapter and surrounding connectors free from dust and moisture. If you require very long cable runs or active signal conversion, consider using certified active DisplayPort extenders or repeaters.
