Inter-Tech 88885217 internt USB-kabel

The Inter-Tech 88885217 internal USB cable converts a 19-pin internal USB 3.0 front-panel connector to a 9-pin USB 2.0 header, allowing connection of a case with USB 3.0 front ports to an older motherboard without an internal USB 3.0 connector. The cable provides stable data transfer and is intended for internal PC use; its length is suitable for typical mid-tower and midi-tower layouts.

Advantages

This adapter cable enables compatibility between modern case front-panel USB 3.0 connectors and legacy motherboards with only USB 2.0 internal headers. It simplifies installation inside the case, requires no external parts, and maintains a reliable connection for front USB ports. The compact cable design supports tidy cable routing within the chassis.

Suitable for

• Connecting a case front-panel 19-pin USB 3.0 connector to a motherboard with a 9-pin USB 2.0 header
• Upgrading an older PC case to use front USB ports on newer cases
• Internal cable routing in midi-tower and mid-tower computer cases

How to use

Power off the PC and unplug it from the mains before installation. Open the case and locate the front-panel USB 3.0 19-pin connector on the case wiring. Plug the 19-pin connector of the Inter-Tech 88885217 into that socket, and connect the 9-pin USB 2.0 end to the motherboard's internal USB 2.0 header following the header pinout. Route the cable to avoid obstructing fans or other components, then close the case and power up the system. The front USB ports will operate at USB 2.0 speed when connected through this adapter.

Recommendations

Use this adapter only for internal, low-voltage USB connections. Do not force connectors; ensure correct orientation to avoid bent pins. For full USB 3.0 speeds, connect directly to a motherboard USB 3.0/3.1 internal header or use a PCIe USB 3.x expansion card if the motherboard lacks a native header.
