Kabeladapter Bachmann 917.401 USB 3.0 A til B sort

The Bachmann 917.401 Cable Gender Changer provides a simple adapter solution for converting a USB 3.0 A connector to a USB 3.0 B connector. Housed in a compact black casing, this gender changer enables direct connection between devices and cables that would otherwise be incompatible, preserving SuperSpeed USB 3.0 data rates where supported by connected hardware. The device is intended for short inline adaptation and does not add active signal boosting or power conversion.

Advantages

This adapter supports USB 3.0 A to B mating without requiring a new cable, allowing quick reconfiguration of existing setups. Its compact form factor and neutral black colour make it unobtrusive in office and home environments. The passive design maintains the physical USB 3.0 pin layout, enabling compatibility with standard USB 3.0 ports and devices when cable and host/device support is present.

Suitable for

• Connecting a USB 3.0 A-terminated cable to a device with a USB 3.0 B port
• Adapting existing USB cables for printers, external drives, and audio interfaces that use USB-B
• Quick on-the-spot configuration changes in office, workshop, or lab environments

Key specifications

• Connector 1: USB 3.0 Type A (female)
• Connector 2: USB 3.0 Type B (female)
• Colour: Black
• Form factor: Inline passive gender changer
• Supported transfer mode: USB 3.0 SuperSpeed (backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1 where supported by connected devices)

How to use

Insert the USB 3.0 A plug of the existing cable into the adapter’s USB 3.0 A receptacle and then connect the adapter’s USB 3.0 B receptacle to the device’s USB 3.0 B cable or port as required. Ensure connectors are aligned before applying gentle pressure to avoid bending pins. Confirm that both host and peripheral devices support the intended USB version to achieve optimal transfer speeds. The adapter is intended for inline use and should not be subjected to excessive mechanical stress or moisture exposure.

Recommendations

Use this passive gender changer for short, direct adaptations and avoid using multiple passive adapters in series. For long cable runs or where signal integrity is critical, consider using a purpose-built USB 3.0 cable of the correct type or an active repeater to preserve full SuperSpeed performance.
