Krydshammer Stanley STHT0-51908

The Stanley STHT0-51908 cross-peen hammer is a 500 g hand tool designed for precision striking where controlled force and access to tight spaces are required. It combines a dedicated cross-peen head profile with a fibreglass handle to reduce vibration and improve grip. The compact weight and balanced geometry make it suitable for detailed carpentry, metal shaping and general workshop tasks where accuracy matters.

Advantages

The fibreglass handle provides enhanced shock absorption compared with traditional solid handles, reducing user fatigue during repeated strikes. The cross-peen head concentrates force along a narrow edge for controlled shaping and starting nails in confined areas. The 500 g head weight offers a balance between control and driving power, while the black and grey finish resists visible wear and simplifies tool identification in a busy toolbox.

How to use

Hold the hammer near the end of the fibreglass handle for maximum control and reach, or move your hand closer to the head for finer tapping and shaping. Use the flat face for general striking and driving nails, and use the cross-peen edge to start nails, spread material, or shape metal. Position the workpiece securely and strike with controlled force; allow the tool's weight to deliver impact rather than forcing excessive swing. Inspect the handle and head before use to ensure they are secure and undamaged.

Recommendations

For safe and effective use, wear appropriate eye protection while striking and ensure your workpiece is well supported. Store the hammer in a dry place to preserve the fibreglass handle and painted finish. Use the cross-peen for tasks requiring narrow, controlled impacts and switch to the flat face when full driving force is needed.
