eQ-3 Homematic IP vejrsensor basic, HmIP-SWO-B (152056A0)

The eQ-3 AG HmIP-SWO-B is an environmental sensor designed for smart home installations. It measures temperature, relative humidity and ambient brightness and transmits the data wirelessly for integration into HomeMatic IP systems. Its compact housing and straightforward connectivity allow continuous monitoring of indoor conditions to support automated heating, ventilation and lighting scenarios.

Advantages

The sensor provides three environmental measurements in a single device, enabling multi-parameter monitoring without occupying additional space. Wireless communication simplifies installation and placement anywhere within range of the HomeMatic IP network. The compact, unobtrusive design is suitable for living areas, bedrooms or utility rooms, while the device’s measurement accuracy supports consistent control of climate and lighting automations.

Suitable for

• Monitoring room temperature for climate control
• Tracking relative humidity in living spaces and storage areas
• Measuring ambient brightness to automate lighting scenes
• Integration into HomeMatic IP smart home setups

Key specifications

• Measured parameters: temperature, relative humidity, ambient brightness
• Connectivity: wireless radio compatible with HomeMatic IP
• Power supply: battery-operated for flexible placement
• Form factor: compact wall or surface-mounted housing
• Operational environment: designed for indoor use

How to use

Install the sensor in the room where environmental monitoring is required, preferably mounted on an interior wall at typical head height and away from direct sunlight, heating sources or drafts to obtain representative readings. Insert the battery according to the manufacturer’s instructions, then follow the HomeMatic IP pairing procedure to add the device to your gateway or central unit. After successful integration, configure measurement intervals and automation rules in the HomeMatic app or controller to use temperature, humidity and brightness data for climate control and lighting automation.

Recommendations

Place the device on an interior wall away from windows and heating appliances for accurate temperature and humidity data. Regularly check battery status in the HomeMatic app and replace batteries as needed to maintain continuous wireless reporting. For reliable brightness measurements, avoid placing the sensor behind furniture or in highly shaded locations.
