Netværks-Ethernet-controller BROADCOM BCM57414B1KFSBG 50Gb RDMA

The BROADCOM BCM57414B1KFSBG Network Ethernet Controller delivers a 50Gb single-port Ethernet solution with RDMA support, engineered for integration into server NICs, mezzanine cards and embedded network modules. Designed for data center and enterprise networking environments, this controller focuses on low-latency, high-throughput packet processing to support storage, virtualization and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. The device offloads network processing to reduce host CPU utilization and improves data path efficiency for demanding workloads.

Advantages

This Broadcom Ethernet controller provides 50Gb bandwidth and hardware-assisted RDMA capability to enable fast, low-overhead data transfers between systems. Its design supports offloading of network protocol tasks to lower CPU load, which can result in improved application performance in virtualized and storage-heavy environments. The controller is intended for integration into modular networking hardware and offers a compact footprint suitable for modern server architectures.

Suitable for

• High-performance servers requiring 50Gb Ethernet connectivity
• Storage systems and SAN environments utilizing RDMA for reduced latency
• Virtualized infrastructure and hyperconverged platforms
• Network interface cards (NICs), mezzanine cards and embedded modules
• HPC clusters and data-intensive computing tasks

Key specifications

• Nominal link speed: 50 Gigabit Ethernet
• RDMA support for low-latency, direct memory access transfers
• Single-port high-speed Ethernet interface suitable for server integration
• Hardware offload features to reduce host CPU utilization
• Compact package designed for integration onto NICs and embedded modules

How to use

Integrate the controller onto a compatible printed circuit board or module following the manufacturer’s hardware integration guidelines. Ensure the host platform provides appropriate PCIe lanes, power, thermal dissipation and firmware or driver support for Broadcom network devices. Configure link settings and RDMA parameters in the host operating system and network stack to enable offload features and optimize performance for storage, virtualization, or HPC workloads.

Recommendations

Use validated drivers and firmware releases from the vendor or system integrator, enable RDMA only when the network fabric and endpoints support it, and verify thermal and power budgets in your server design. For optimal performance, pair the controller with appropriate switch hardware and use link aggregation, flow control, or quality-of-service configuration as required by your applications.
