Patchpanel MetzConnect 130A08-AP29-E 24-port RJ-45 Cat5e 1U sort

MetzConnect 130A08-AP29-E is a 1U, 19-inch rack-mount patch panel with 24 RJ-45 ports designed for Cat5e structured cabling. The black steel housing provides a compact, front-facing termination point for Ethernet connections in server racks and network cabinets. It supports both T568A and T568B wiring schemes and accepts unshielded twisted-pair cables terminated on LSA insulation displacement connectors, making it suitable for office, data center and telecom wiring projects where reliable Cat5e performance is required.

Advantages

The panel combines a space-saving 1U design with a durable black sheet-steel frame, offering a standardized 19-inch mounting format compatible with common racks and cabinets. Four individual 6-port connection blocks simplify installation and organization, while the LSA punch-down connectors accept AWG 22–26 conductors for secure, tool-assisted terminations. Included clip-in plastic cable brackets help manage patch cords and maintain neat cable routing at the front of the rack.

Suitable for

• Small and medium office network installations
• Data centre patching and horizontal distribution
• Telecommunications rooms and network cabinets
• Structured cabling projects using Cat5e cabling

Key specifications

• Form factor: 19-inch, 1U rack-mount
• Ports: 24 x RJ-45 (8P8C) for Cat5e
• Cable type: Unshielded twisted-pair (UTP), Cat5e
• Termination: LSA insulation displacement (punch-down), AWG 22–26
• Wiring standards supported: T568A and T568B
• Material and finish: Black sheet-steel housing
• Cable management: 4 clip-in plastic cable brackets

How to use

Mount the patch panel into a 19-inch rack or cabinet occupying a single unit (1U) of height and secure it with appropriate rack screws. Route unshielded Cat5e cables to the rear of the panel, strip outer jackets to expose pairs, and terminate each conductor into the LSA punch-down connectors according to the chosen wiring scheme (T568A or T568B). Use a suitable punch-down tool to ensure reliable contact. After termination, clip the provided cable brackets in place to guide and secure patch cords at the front of the panel.

Recommendations

For best performance, use quality Cat5e cables and maintain proper bend radius when routing cables. Label ports clearly to simplify administration and verify terminations with a cable tester after installation to confirm continuity and pair integrity.
