Rundsav Metabo KS 55

The Metabo KS 55 circular saw is a compact, corded power saw designed for straight and angled cuts in solid wood and sheet materials. Equipped with a 1200 W motor and a maximum idle speed of 5600 RPM, the tool combines cutting power with a lightweight design of approximately 4 kg. The saw accepts a 160 mm blade and delivers a maximum cutting depth of 55 mm at a 90° angle, while offering a swivel angle range from 0° to 47° for bevel cuts. The construction supports routine site and workshop tasks where portability and reliable cutting performance are required.

Advantages

The 1200 W motor provides stable speed under load, helping to maintain consistent cutting quality. A 160 mm blade diameter and a 55 mm maximum cutting depth at 90° allow efficient work on boards, panels and common carpentry materials. The tool’s low weight improves handling during prolonged use and when performing repetitive cuts. The adjustable bevel of up to 47° expands the saw’s versatility for angled cuts without the need for additional equipment.

Suitable for

• Crosscuts and rip cuts in softwood and hardwood boards
• Cutting plywood, MDF and chipboard panels
• Bevel and angled cuts for trim and joinery
• Portable on-site cutting where a compact corded saw is required

Key specifications

• Motor power: 1200 W
• Maximum no-load speed: 5600 RPM
• Blade diameter: 160 mm
• Maximum cutting depth at 90°: 55 mm
• Bevel range: 0°–47°
• Weight: approximately 4 kg

How to use

Ensure the saw is fitted with an appropriate 160 mm blade for the material and that the workpiece is securely supported. Set the desired cutting depth and bevel angle before starting the motor. Align the saw base with the cut line and feed the tool steadily through the material at a controlled pace, allowing the motor to reach full speed before engaging the workpiece. After completing the cut, allow the blade to stop fully before setting the tool down and disconnecting power if changing the blade or performing adjustments.

Recommendations

Use blades matched to the material and tooth count suitable for the cut type to optimise finish and reduce strain on the 1200 W motor. Wear eye and hearing protection and follow standard site safety procedures. For repeated bevel cuts, check and tighten the bevel adjustment regularly to maintain cutting accuracy. When working with long panels, support the offcut to prevent binding and kickback.
