How to use

Connect the Beyerdynamic D57c to a mixer or preamp using a balanced XLR cable. Position the microphone close to the instrument or drum head for direct sound capture, using its mounting system to secure it to stands or clamp points. Adjust preamp gain and equalization on the mixer to achieve the desired balance and to prevent clipping at high sound pressure levels. Handle the microphone and mounting hardware with care during setup and teardown.

Recommendations

For optimal results when miking drums and percussion, position the microphone to capture the intended attack and body of the instrument while keeping it clear of direct impacts. Use a reliable XLR cable and set gain conservatively to accommodate transient peaks from strong hits.
