SSD-kabinet Icy Dock MB861U31-1M2B

The ICYNano MB861U31-1M2B is a compact external enclosure that converts a single M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD into a portable USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gb/s) pocket drive. It supports M.2 lengths 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and the extra-long enterprise 22110, and includes both USB-C to C and USB-C to A cables for wide system compatibility. The enclosure features a metal body with a high-efficiency heatsink lid and a thermal pad to manage temperature under heavy workloads.

Advantages

The tool-less adjustable M.2 locker allows fast, tool-free swapping of M.2 NVMe SSDs of various lengths in seconds. Support for 22110 enterprise drives enables higher endurance and suitability for data‑intensive applications. The USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface delivers up to 10Gb/s transfer speeds for quick backups and fast media transfers, while the included heatsink and thermal pad reduce thermal throttling. The enclosure is slim, durable, and designed for portability.

Suitable for

• Media professionals working with 4K/5K/8K video files
• IT technicians and computer repair specialists who swap drives frequently
• Users needing a portable, high-speed external NVMe solution

Connect the enclosure to your computer using the included USB-C cable (use the C–A cable for legacy ports if needed). The device is plug-and-play and requires no drivers on most operating systems.

Recommendations

For sustained heavy workloads, ensure the heatsink lid is properly seated and allow airflow around the enclosure. Use high-quality USB 3.2 Gen 2 cables provided to maintain full 10Gb/s performance and avoid using passive C–A adapters that may reduce speed or cause compatibility issues.
