Stikdåse ShiverPeaks 74240-4

The ShiverPeaks Connection Box 74240-4 is a wired surface-mounted enclosure designed to provide maximum connectivity for small installations needing termination and distribution of up to two external telephone lines (Amtsleitungen). It accepts multiple incoming and outgoing copper pairs and offers a compact, organized solution for terminating PSTN or analogous line pairs in residential or small office environments, simplifying line management and maintenance while keeping cabling accessible and neat.

Advantages

This connection box supports up to two external telephone lines and multiple internal pairs in a compact surface-mounted housing, enabling neat cable routing and clear separation of incoming and internal wiring. The design facilitates straightforward termination and testing of analog and ISDN-style line pairs, while sturdy construction provides reliable mechanical protection for connections. The unit reduces installation time by consolidating terminations in a single accessible point and improves maintainability through organized pair labeling and accessible terminals.

Suitable for

• Residential telephone line termination and distribution
• Small office or home office PBX/interface junctions
• ISDN or analogue PSTN line demarcation and testing points
• Retrofit or new surface-mounted cabling installations

Key specifications

• Surface-mounted enclosure for wall installation
• Supports termination of up to two external telephone lines (Amtsleitungen)
• Multiple internal copper pairs for distribution and internal extensions
• Compatible with analogue PSTN and ISDN-style line pairs
• Accessible screw or spring-style terminals for reliable connections
• Compact form factor to minimize wall space usage

How to use

Mount the connection box on a suitable flat surface near the incoming line entry point, secure the enclosure with appropriate fasteners, and route the external line cables into the unit. Terminate incoming external pairs on the designated terminals and connect internal extension pairs or trunk lines to the distribution terminals following labeling or the installation plan. After termination, verify continuity and line signalling where applicable, and close the cover to protect terminals from dust and accidental contact. Use standard telephony tools for punching down or tightening terminals as required by the terminal type.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, separate power and low-voltage telephony cables to avoid interference, label external and internal pairs clearly during installation, and perform line tests after connection. Use corrosion-resistant conductors and protect exterior cable entry points against moisture. If integrating with a PBX or network device, confirm line compatibility and signalling standards before finalizing connections.
