TESA 55286-00000-00 insektnet

The TESA 55286-00000-00 screen mesh is a durable nylon insect screen in anthracite color sized 1300 x 1500 mm for residential window protection. Manufactured in Germany, this window mesh combines fine weave and weather-resistant material to block insects while maintaining good airflow and visibility. It is designed for straightforward fitting into common window frames and provides long-term use when maintained according to care instructions.

Advantages

The anthracite nylon construction offers resistance to UV exposure and daily wear while keeping the profile lightweight and flexible for easier handling during installation. The fine mesh pattern prevents entry of mosquitoes, flies and other small insects without significantly reducing natural light or ventilation. The neutral anthracite color integrates with most window frames and interior décors, and the overall panel dimensions suit standard window openings that require a single-piece solution.

Suitable for

• Residential windows in bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens
• Replacement of worn or damaged window screens
• Seasonal insect protection in temperate climates
• DIY window screening projects requiring a single-panel mesh

How to use

Measure the window opening to confirm the 1300 x 1500 mm panel fits or can be trimmed according to frame requirements. Clean and prepare the window frame, then position the mesh over the opening so the edges align. Secure the screen using compatible frame clips, spline and frame channels or adhesive fixing strips depending on the window type. Ensure the mesh is taut but not overstretched to maintain the weave integrity and avoid distortions that can compromise insect protection. If trimming is necessary, use sharp scissors or a utility knife and finish edges to prevent fraying.

Recommendations

For prolonged performance, clean the mesh periodically with a soft brush or mild soapy water and rinse gently; avoid harsh chemicals and high-pressure washing. Inspect attachment points seasonally and re-tension or replace mounting elements if needed. Store spare panels flat in a dry place if not in use. When cutting, protect edges with hem tape or appropriate frame sealing to reduce fraying and preserve a neat fit.
