USB-switch Renkforce RF-4106952 – 4-port USB 2.0, sort

The Renkforce RF-4106952 — 4-port USB 2.0 switch in black enables easy sharing and selection of USB peripherals between multiple hosts or among several connected devices. This compact device supports standard USB 2.0 peripherals and is designed to simplify workflows where several computers need access to the same printer, scanner, external drive or other USB equipment without repeatedly unplugging and reconnecting cables. Its space-saving black enclosure fits into home offices or small workstations.

Advantages

The USB switch offers four USB 2.0 ports for connecting multiple peripherals and a simple switching mechanism to change active devices quickly. It supports full-speed and high-speed USB 2.0 communication for broad compatibility with common printers, scanners, external HDDs, flash drives and input devices. The compact housing reduces desktop clutter while providing a stable physical connection for attached devices. No complex driver installation is required for most standard USB devices, enabling plug-and-play operation in many environments.

Suitable for

• Home offices where several computers share one printer or scanner
• Small business workstations that require access to shared external storage
• Multimedia setups where multiple hosts need to access USB audio interfaces or controllers
• Test benches and workshops for switching measurement devices or development peripherals

Key specifications

• USB standard: USB 2.0 (supports full-speed and high-speed communication)
• Number of downstream ports: 4 USB Type-A ports for connecting peripherals
• Host connections: selectable connection between attached hosts or device selection among connected peripherals
• Color and form factor: black compact enclosure designed for desktop placement
• Power: USB bus-powered operation for most standard devices (external power may be required for high-power peripherals)
• Compatibility: compatible with standard USB 2.0 devices such as printers, scanners, external drives, flash drives and input devices

How to use

Connect the USB switch to the host computers and attach up to four USB peripherals to the device ports. Use the front panel switch or the designated selection method to choose which host accesses a particular peripheral or which peripheral is active. For most standard devices the switch supports plug-and-play operation; if a connected peripheral requires additional power, attach an appropriate external power source if supported. Ensure hosts have any necessary device drivers installed so the operating system recognises the selected peripheral after switching.

Recommendations

Place the USB switch on a stable surface near connected hosts to keep cable lengths short and reduce signal loss. For reliable operation with power-hungry peripherals such as some external hard drives or multifunction printers, use an externally powered USB hub or connect a dedicated power source where supported. After switching, allow the operating system a few seconds to re-detect the peripheral before attempting to use it.
