WLAN-startkit Devolo Magic 1

The WiFi Starter Kit Devolo Magic 1 combines powerline and Wi‑Fi to extend reliable home network coverage using existing electrical wiring. The compact kit contains two white adapter units with internal antennas, integrated power sockets and LED indicators for PLC and WLAN status. Supporting multiple Ethernet and wireless networking standards, the kit delivers up to 1200 Mbit/s theoretical throughput and includes a LAN cable for quick connection to routers or devices. Low power consumption in operation and standby helps reduce energy use while providing a stable connection for typical home networking needs.

Advantages

The Devolo Magic 1 kit offers straightforward plug‑and‑play setup, combining powerline transmission with Wi‑Fi to reach areas that are difficult to cover by a single wireless router. Built‑in pass‑through power sockets preserve wall outlet availability. Internal LEDs provide clear status information for powerline and wireless links. The compact white housing fits unobtrusively into domestic environments, and the inclusion of a LAN cable allows immediate wired connection of one device without additional accessories.

Suitable for

• Extending Wi‑Fi coverage to rooms with weak wireless signal
• Connecting smart TVs, set‑top boxes or consoles via wired Ethernet
• Providing a stable connection for video streaming and web browsing
• Homes where running new network cabling is impractical

• Built‑in power socket: yes (pass‑through)
• Ethernet LAN: yes (one port included)
• Product colour: white
• Power consumption: approx. 4.4 W in operation, approx. 1 W in standby
• Antenna type: internal
• Indicators: LED for PLC and WLAN status

How to use

Plug one adapter into a wall socket near your router and connect it to the router using the supplied LAN cable. Plug the second adapter into a wall socket in the room where you need coverage. Press the pairing or sync buttons according to the quick start guide to establish the powerline connection; the LED indicators will show PLC and WLAN status. Once paired, connect devices either via the built‑in Ethernet port or via the Wi‑Fi network broadcast by the adapter. Place adapters in unobstructed wall outlets for best signal and avoid multi‑socket extenders where possible.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, connect high‑bandwidth devices such as smart TVs or game consoles to the adapter's Ethernet port and locate the second adapter in a central position in the target room. Avoid plugging the adapters into surge protectors or extension leads, and ensure both units are on the same electrical circuit for best throughput. Check LED indicators to confirm a healthy PLC link before troubleshooting Wi‑Fi settings.
