Kabelcrimpetang Knipex 97 49 09

The Knipex 97 49 09 cable crimper is a compact, lightweight hand tool designed for precise crimping of electrical cable terminals and ferrules. Weighing approximately 50 g, it combines a narrow profile and ergonomic form to allow accurate work in confined spaces. The tool’s construction from high-quality materials provides long service life and consistent crimp quality suitable for both professional technicians and home users.

Advantages

The crimper delivers reliable, repeatable crimps thanks to its precision-manufactured jaws and stable hinge. Its low weight and slim design reduce hand fatigue during extended use, while the ergonomic handles offer secure grip and control. Robust materials and careful assembly ensure resistance to wear and a steady crimping force over time.

Suitable for

• Crimping insulated and non-insulated cable ferrules
• Electrical installation and wiring work in residential and commercial settings
• Maintenance and repair tasks in control cabinets and switchgear
• DIY electronics and automotive wiring projects

Key specifications

• Tool type: manual cable/ferrule crimper
• Weight: approximately 50 g — very lightweight for reduced fatigue
• Design: slim profile for access in tight spaces
• Handles: ergonomically shaped for secure grip and control
• Jaw: precision-formed for consistent crimp quality
• Material: hardened steel components with corrosion-resistant finish

How to use

Select an appropriate ferrule or terminal for the conductor size, insert the stripped conductor fully into the ferrule, position the ferrule between the crimper jaws, and squeeze the handles evenly until the crimp is completed. Inspect the crimp visually and, if necessary, perform a gentle pull test to confirm the conductor is retained. For repeatable results, maintain a consistent insertion depth and hand pressure during each crimp.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term performance, keep the tool clean and dry, and periodically check the jaws for deformation or wear. Lubricate the hinge lightly if movement becomes stiff, and store the crimper in a toolbox or protective pouch to prevent damage. Use the tool only within its intended range of conductor sizes and ferrule types to avoid premature wear or poor crimps.
