Serverkabinet Inter-Tech 1.5U-1528L rack sort

The Inter-Tech 1.5U-1528L Rack Black is a compact 1.5U server case engineered for rack-mounted systems that require a small footprint and reliable component accommodation. Designed to accept Mini-ITX motherboards and standard ATX power supplies, this steel chassis measures 482 mm in width, 314 mm in depth and 65 mm in height. It supports both 3.5" and 2.5" hard drives, offers two front 60 mm fans for active airflow and includes two USB 2.0 ports on the front panel. The black finish and rack form factor make it suitable for data cabinets, network closets and small server deployments where space efficiency and basic cooling are priorities.

Advantages

The case combines a narrow 1.5U height with sufficient internal space for storage drives and a full-size ATX power supply, enabling flexible power and storage choices. Steel construction provides structural rigidity and durability for continuous operation in server environments. Two front 60 mm fans promote airflow across drive bays and motherboard area to maintain stable operating temperatures. Front USB 2.0 ports offer convenient local access for peripherals or service devices without opening the chassis.

Suitable for

• Compact rack-mounted home servers and NAS builds
• Network appliances and firewall appliances using Mini-ITX motherboards
• Small office servers with a need for several internal hard drives
• Edge computing nodes and lab testbeds with limited rack space

Mount up to two 3.5" drives and two 2.5" drives in the internal drive trays or brackets, and connect data and power cables. Ensure the two front 60 mm fans are connected to the motherboard or a fan controller for active cooling. Slide the assembled unit into a compatible 19" rack and secure it using standard rack screws or mounting rails as required.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term operation, use low-vibration hard drives or SSDs where possible, maintain unobstructed airflow in the rack, and route cables to avoid blocking the front fans. Choose an ATX power supply with adequate wattage and appropriate cooling profile for server operation. Periodically inspect fan operation and clean dust from intake areas to preserve cooling efficiency.
