Equip MTP/SC trunk fiber-patchkabel, OM4, 7 m

The equip® MTP/SC Trunk Fiber Patch Cord OM4, 7m is a pre-terminated multimode fiber trunk cable with a 50 µm core diameter designed for high-bandwidth, high-density cabling in data centers and enterprise networks. The assembly combines an MTP connector on one end with four SC connectors on the other, providing a compact solution for parallel optical links and structured cabling systems.

Advantages

This MTP/SC trunk cable supports OM4 multimode performance for high-speed data transmission and increased reach compared with lower-grade multimode fibers. Pre-terminated connectors reduce installation time and the risk of field termination errors. The 7 m length offers flexibility for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-distribution connections while the MTP to 4×SC breakout enables compatibility with common SC-based equipment and patch panels.

Suitable for

• Data center rack-to-rack and pod interconnects
• High-density patch panels and MPO/MTP trunking
• Enterprise backbone and server room cabling
• Parallel optical transceiver connections (e.g., 40G/100G applications using MPO/MTP)

How to use

Route the pre-terminated trunk cable between the source MTP/MPO panel or transceiver and the destination SC patch panel or equipment. Ensure connectors and ports are clean and follow standard fiber handling procedures to avoid bend radius violations and contamination. Insert the MTP connector into the matching MTP/MPO adapter or transceiver and plug each SC connector into the corresponding SC adapter or device port. Verify link performance with appropriate test equipment after installation.

Recommendations

Use the equip MTP/SC Trunk OM4 in structured cabling where OM4 multimode performance is required and where pre-terminated trunking reduces installation time. Clean connectors before mating, maintain specified minimum bend radius for multimode fiber, and confirm connectivity and insertion loss with a qualified tester.
