Fiberkabel Helos 2m OM4 LC/SC

The Helos 2m OM4 LC/SC fibre optic cable is a duplex multimode link with a 50 µm core diameter designed for high-speed data transmission. With LC connector on one end and SC connector on the other, this 2 metre OM4 patch cable supports full duplex communication and is intended for structured cabling in data centres, server rooms and network racks. The OM4 grade provides enhanced bandwidth and extended reach for multimode applications, helping maintain signal integrity in short- to medium-range connections.

Advantages

This OM4 LC/SC cable offers low insertion loss and stable return loss characteristics suitable for high-density environments. The 50 µm core diameter and OM4 specification enable higher modal bandwidth compared with lower multimode grades, supporting higher data rates for enterprise networking equipment. The combination of LC and SC terminations allows flexible interfacing with a variety of transceivers and patch panels while the 2 m length provides a practical balance between reach and cable management in racks and cabinets.

Suitable for

• Short- to medium-range multimode links in data centres and server rooms
• Patch-panel to transceiver or switch connections requiring LC to SC interface
• High-speed LANs, SANs and enterprise network backbones using OM4 multimode fibre

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM4
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Length: 2 m
• Connector types: LC (one end) and SC (other end)
• Mode: Duplex (full duplex capable)
• Typical usage: Patch cable for indoor structured cabling

How to use

Connect the LC terminator to the device or transceiver with an LC interface and the SC terminator to the corresponding patch panel or network device with an SC port. Ensure both connectors are clean and free of dust before mating to minimise signal loss. Route the cable through cable management paths or trays to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for multimode fibre to preserve optical performance. Verify link status and performance using appropriate network diagnostics after installation.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable in a clean environment, use dust caps when connectors are not in use, and use a fibre inspection scope or cleaning tools prior to connection. For best performance, select OM4 multimode components throughout the link and avoid excessive bending or tensile loading.
