Fiberkabel Helos 3 m OM4 LC/SC

The Helos 3m OM4 LC/SC fibre optic cable is designed for high-speed data transmission in structured networks and data center environments. It has a 50 µm core diameter OM4 multimode fibre and comes terminated with an LC connector on one end and an SC connector on the other, providing duplex transmission and compatibility with common networking equipment. The 3 m length helps link switches, transceivers and patch panels while maintaining signal integrity and low insertion loss.

Advantages

This OM4 multimode cable offers improved bandwidth and lower attenuation compared with lower grade multimode fibres, enabling higher data rates over short to medium distances. The LC/SC termination provides a balance of compact LC connection and robust SC interface, simplifying integration into mixed-connector racks and active equipment. The cable construction is made for consistent optical performance and reduced signal reflections, ensuring uptime and predictable link behavior.

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode (50 µm core)
• Length: 3 m
• Connector A: LC (duplex)
• Connector B: SC (duplex)
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Typical use: Short to medium distance high-speed links

How to use

Route the Helos 3m OM4 LC/SC cable between devices ensuring bend radii remain within manufacturer recommendations for multimode fibre. Insert the LC connector into the LC receptacle of the transceiver or patch panel and the SC connector into the corresponding SC port until the connector locks. Verify proper seating and secure any excess cable to avoid strain. Perform link testing and inspect endfaces with a fibre inspection tool if required to confirm low insertion loss and clean connections.

Recommendations

To maintain performance, keep connector endfaces clean and avoid tight bends or mechanical stress. Use dust caps when connectors are not in use and follow standard fibre handling procedures in data center or networking installations.
