Fiberkabel Helos 5m OM4 LC/SC

The Helos 5m OM4 LC/SC fibre optic cable is a duplex multimode link with a 50 µm core diameter designed for high-speed data transmission over short to medium distances. At 5 metres length it supports high-bandwidth applications typical in data centres, server rooms and network racks. The combination of LC and SC connectors provides flexible connectivity to a variety of transceivers and patch panels while the OM4 grade fibre improves modal bandwidth for demanding network loads.

Advantages

This OM4 cable delivers higher modal bandwidth compared with lower multimode grades, enabling greater throughput for 10GbE and higher Ethernet links in consolidated network environments. The duplex design supports simultaneous transmit and receive channels for full duplex communication. LC and SC connector types increase compatibility with common network equipment, and the factory-terminated construction ensures consistent optical performance and reduced installation time.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching and interconnects
• Server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections
• High-speed Ethernet links (10GbE and above) within racks and cabinets
• SAN and storage networking within short to medium distance layouts

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Configuration: Duplex (full duplex communication)
• Connector A: LC
• Connector B: SC
• Length: 5 m
• Typical applications: Data centre and enterprise network interconnects

How to use

Route the Helos OM4 LC/SC cable between the two network ports ensuring minimum bend radius is respected to avoid signal degradation. Insert the LC connector into the LC-compatible transceiver or port and the SC connector into the SC-type port or patch panel until each connector clicks into place. Confirm link status on connected devices and, if necessary, perform optical loss or continuity tests to verify installation quality. When routing through cable management, secure the cable without excessive tension or tight bends.

Recommendations

Use this 5 m OM4 LC/SC cable for in-rack and adjacent-rack connections where high modal bandwidth and reliable full duplex transmission are required. Avoid sharp bends, kinks and exposure to mechanical stress; store and handle the cable following standard fibre optic best practices to preserve optical performance.
