Forgehammer Cimco 130880

The Cimco 130880 sledge hammer combines a durable 1 kg steel head with a traditional wooden handle to deliver reliable impact force for heavy-duty tasks. Designed for controlled striking and repetitive use, this tool is suitable for construction, demolition and general site work where a compact yet powerful hammer is needed.

Advantages

The steel head provides consistent mass and resistance to deformation under repeated impact, while the wooden handle offers tactile feedback and shock absorption. The compact 1 kg head balances portability with sufficient striking power for breaking masonry, driving stakes or performing light-to-medium demolition work. The straightforward design ensures easy maintenance and long service life when used as intended.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Breaking small sections of concrete, brick or stone
• Driving metal stakes and fence posts
• Chiseling and splitting tasks where controlled impact is required
• Construction site light demolition and formwork adjustments
• General workshop and maintenance strikes

Key specifications

• Head material: forged steel
• Head weight: 1 kg
• Handle material: wood
• Overall balance: compact, designed for control and repeated strikes
• Typical applications: construction, demolition, staking, workshop use

How to use

Grip the wooden handle with both hands, placing one hand near the base and the other roughly midway for control. Align the hammer head with the target and swing using a controlled motion from the shoulders and elbows rather than the wrist to maximize force and reduce strain. When striking, focus on accurate placement of blows to avoid glancing impacts that can damage the head or handle. Inspect the handle and head connection regularly and replace the handle if it shows cracks or loosened fit before continuing use.

Recommendations

Use eye protection and appropriate gloves when operating the sledge hammer. For tasks involving high rebound or heavy fragmentation, increase distance from bystanders and consider using a heavier or specialist demolition tool. Store the tool in a dry place to prevent wooden handle degradation and check the head for secure seating before each use.
