Krydshammer Cimco 130804

The Cimco 130804 cross-peen hammer is a compact hand tool designed for controlled striking and shaping tasks. It has a durable steel head weighing 300 g and a wooden handle that offers a secure, comfortable grip for extended use. The hammer’s cross-peen geometry concentrates force along a narrow edge, making it suited for precision metalwork, panel fitting, and tasks that require directional blows.

Advantages

The steel head provides consistent striking performance and resistance to deformation during repeated impacts. At 300 g the head balances control and enough mass for light shaping and driving tasks. The wooden handle absorbs some vibration, reduces hand fatigue, and allows for a natural grip. The cross-peen profile increases accuracy when moving metal, setting rivets, or starting nails in confined spaces.

Suitable for

• Sheet metal shaping and bending
• Blacksmithing detail work and small forging tasks
• Driving and starting nails in narrow or angled positions
• Panel fitting and bodywork alignment
• General DIY repairs requiring controlled, directional strikes

Key specifications

• Head material: heat-treated steel
• Head mass: 300 g
• Head style: cross-peen (narrow perpendicular peen)
• Handle material: wood
• Intended use: light shaping, striking, and precision metalwork

How to use

Hold the wooden handle near its end for maximum leverage or closer to the head for greater control when performing delicate tasks. Align the cross-peen edge with the area to be formed or struck and use measured blows to shape or move material; avoid heavy overstrikes that could damage the handle or the workpiece. For driving nails in tight or angled situations, start with light taps using the peen, then switch to the flat face to finish driving. Inspect the head and handle before use to ensure they are secure and free of cracks.

Recommendations

Store the hammer in a dry place and periodically check the wooden handle and the head fit. Replace the handle or re-seat the head if any looseness, cracks, or significant wear is detected. Use appropriate eye protection and gloves when performing metal shaping or striking operations.
