How to use

Hold the Bahco 425 with a firm but controlled grip on the wooden handle and present the blade bevel to the workpiece at a shallow angle for paring cuts. Use long, steady strokes for smooth shavings when trimming or fitting joints; for controlled shaving of end grain, keep the blade supported and move the workpiece or chisel to maintain accuracy. Keep hands behind the cutting edge and work on a secure bench or clamp the workpiece for safety and precision.

Recommendations

Keep the blade sharp and lightly oil the steel to prevent corrosion. Store the chisel in a protective sleeve or tool roll to protect the edge and wooden handle. For best results, hone the cutting edge before use and avoid striking the wooden handle with metal hammers—use a wooden or leather mallet if light tapping is required.
